The State of Associations

Through everyday interactions with clients, I often find myself having conversations about the state of member and trade associations, membership retention & recruitment, intrinsic value of membership, competitive factors, etc. As I strive to stay informed and up-to-date on the types of issues that many of our clients face each day, I came across an interesting summary (white paper) about the future of associations. Even though we focus on the marketing & communications side of our clients business, I wanted to post the link here to...

Obsessing Over Value

Obsessing Over Value

Recently I came across a very interesting article — 7 Essential Habits of Successful Business Owners. It was a great piece. However, buried inside that article was an even more interesting piece of information (that I almost overlooked) that has me doing some thinking lately. So glad I didn’t miss it.  If considered, it could potentially change the way we creative professionals do business, and the way we take care of our clients. What was this simple nugget of info? Obsess over Value. As the article states, a lot people preach the idea...

Selecting the Right Creative Firm for Your Business

We recently came across an article on NFIB.com that gave some great tips for selecting an ad agency or design firm. I’ve highlighted the tips below and the full article can be found at this link. ——- Selecting a firm to assist with your marketing is one of the most important decisions a small business can make. Often, it will involve a trade-off between quality and price — or at least between experience and price. Some full-service agencies setup to work with only deep-pocket corporations. Many smaller firms, however,...

Video Content Becoming More and More Important

Posted by on 2:08 pm in Services | Comments Off on Video Content Becoming More and More Important

As a creative services firm, most of what we do still falls into the “traditional” category… if there is such a thing. Brochures, posters, print ads, etc. However, more and more… especially as we add additional services and deliverables to our creative arsenal… we are helping clients develop and execute enhanced digital strategies and a lot of that is coming in the form of video content. In today’s sophisticated media space, customers and clients are looking for increased customer engagement. Nothing helps...

The Rise of Infograhics

Posted by on 1:48 pm in Services | Comments Off on The Rise of Infograhics

Infographics break down data visually, helping viewers make sense of complex information. Their popularity has increased with the rise of social media, fueling the need for instant results by providing content in bite-size, digestible chunks. Recently, we created an infographic (for the Kentucky Distillers’ Association) that helped communicate important messages to state legislators and their staff regarding positive benefits of bourbon tax reform. Our client, Kristin Meadors shared insights into how the infographic benefitted those...

Customer-centric Service

At the beginning of 2014 we sent surveys to our clients to get a sense of what we did well last year. We were looking for feedback to determine current strengths and weaknesses. Specifically, to find out if there are particular marketing areas our clients are anxious to explore. We got lots of great info related to what we do well AND some areas for growth  — just like we asked for! (Don’t ask if you don’t want to know.) Interestingly, the topic of true customer service came up over and over again. (not to anyone’s surprise)...

Behind the Scenes

Behind the Scenes

It’s always fun to go behind the scenes. We had a great time with Common Grounds Coffeeshop owner, Lori McCreary, earlier this week as we spent time learning more about her journey to business ownership in Lexington and how our client, Traditional Bank, has played such a significant role in that success. Throw in the fact that we even got freshly roasted beans… and that made the day epic! Thanks Lori, Traditional Bank and valued partners.
