As District 5 AAF ADDY Chair for Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia, I (David) just wrapped up the District 5 ADDY Judging this past weekend. Thank God I didn’t have to do the judging… that was left to three extremely gifted and discerning advertising + design professionals from across the country. The judging occurred over two grueling days and took more than 16 hours. We (they) reviewed countless print ads, websites, TV spots, outdoor boards, animations, illustrations, invitations, photographs, brochures… and the list goes on and on.

After all of those images, colors, inks, fonts, URLs, pop-up ads, jingles, voiceovers, sound beds, etc., one thing continues to amaze me. A great idea is a great idea and will always “bubble to the top” capturing the interest of audiences & viewers – inspiring them, delighting them, entertaining them and motivating those of us in the industry to dig deeper, be better, push harder, experience more and enjoy all of the great results.

No matter the bandwidth, plug-in, pixel size, network, ad size, budget or media buy… a great idea is all that matters. Still.
